How to Download and Activate Office 2021 and 2024 Professional Plus for PC

When you purchase an Office 2021 or 2024 product key from All Good Keys, you will download the software directly and activate it inside the application. These keys do not require you to link them to a Microsoft account online.

Follow this step-by-step guide to download, install, and activate your Office apps.

Step 1: Download Your Software

Your order confirmation email contains your 25-character activation key. Keep your key handy and click the download link below that matches the version you purchased:

• Download Office 2021 Professional Plus (.img file)
• Download Office 2024 Professional Plus (.exe file)

Step 2: Install Office

The installation process depends on which version you downloaded:

If you downloaded Office 2021:

1. Locate the .img file in your Downloads folder.
2. Double-click the file. Windows will automatically “mount” it as a virtual DVD drive and open a new folder.
3. Double-click the setup (or setup.exe) file inside that folder to run the installer.

If you downloaded Office 2024:

1. Locate the .exe file in your Downloads folder.
2. Double-click the file to run the installer directly.

Follow the on-screen prompts and wait for the installation to finish completely. Close the setup window once it says Office is installed.

Step 3: Enter Your Key & Activate Office 2021 and 2024

1. Open the Start Menu, search for an Office app like Word or Excel, and open it.
2. When the app opens, it may ask you to “Sign in or create an account.” Do not sign in. Instead, look for and click the option that says “I have a product key” or “Enter product key instead.”
3. Type or paste your 25-character product key exactly as it appears in your email.
4. The Microsoft Activation Wizard will appear. Select “I want to activate the software over the Internet” and click Next.
5. If successful, your product is ready to use! You can verify this by going to File > Account and looking for “Product Activated.”

Troubleshooting: Telephone Activation

Getting a “Maximum Activations Reached” Error?

If you select internet activation and get an error stating the key has reached its maximum allowed activations, don’t worry! This is a standard security prompt for these specific license types and just requires a quick manual verification.

1. Click Back on the Activation Wizard.
2. Choose the second option: “I want to activate the software by telephone” and click Next.
3. Select your country from the drop-down menu.
4. You will see a long Installation ID (a series of numbers) generated on your screen.
5. You do not actually need to call Microsoft! Simply go to our website and click the Get Confirmation ID Online link in our website footer.
6. Enter your Installation ID into the tool to receive your Confirmation ID.
7. Type the Confirmation ID into the empty blocks in the Activation Wizard and click Next to permanently activate your software.
