How to Upgrade Windows 11 Home to Pro

If you currently have Windows 11 Home installed and purchased a Windows 11 Pro key from All Good Keys, you can easily upgrade your system without losing any of your files or reinstalling Windows.

Sometimes, entering a new Pro key directly can cause an activation error (such as error 0x803fa067). To ensure a smooth upgrade, please follow these exact steps using Microsoft’s generic upgrade key.

Step 1: Disconnect from the Internet

This is a very important step to prevent Microsoft’s activation servers from interrupting the upgrade process.

• Wi-Fi: Click the network, sound, and battery icons on your taskbar and disconnect from your Wi-Fi network, or click the Airplane mode button.
• Ethernet: Unplug your ethernet cable from your computer.

Step 2: Enter the Generic Upgrade Key

We will use a generic public key provided by Microsoft to force the system to upgrade to the Pro edition. (This key will not activate your Windows; it only changes the edition).

1. Open the Start Menu and click on Settings (the gear icon).
2. In the left menu, ensure you are on System, then scroll down and click on Activation on the right side.
3. Click on Upgrade your edition of Windows to expand the dropdown menu.
4. Next to “Change product key”, click the Change button.
5. Copy and paste this exact generic upgrade key:

6. Click Next, and then click Start to begin the upgrade.

Step 3: Let Your PC Upgrade and Restart

1. Your computer will now begin adding the Windows 11 Pro features. This usually takes a few minutes.
2. Your PC will restart automatically during this process. Do not turn off your computer.
3. Once it boots back up to your desktop, you are now running Windows 11 Pro!

Step 4: Activate Your Purchased Key

Now that your system is Upgrade Windows 11 Home to Pro, you just need to activate it using the key you purchased from us.

1. Reconnect your internet (Turn Wi-Fi back on or plug in your ethernet cable).
2. Go back to Start > Settings > System > Activation.
3. Click Change next to “Change product key” again.
4. Type or paste your unique 25-character product key that you received in your All Good Keys order confirmation email.
5. Click Next and then Activate.

Congratulations, your Windows 11 Pro is now fully upgraded and permanently activated!
